Time for a change!

Husband and I have always been interested in being healthier, especially for our children. It's definitely easier said than done, though. Especially, in the world we live in now. While fresh food and gyms are readily available, it's hard to fit into our lives and fresh food CAN be expensive. We recently watched a couple documentaries that have greatly influenced us to make a change for the better. Hungry for Change and Fat,  Sick, and Nearly Dead are two documentaries I highly recommend.

Our first step in a new healthy life is a juicing fast for 10 days. After that we're going to eat as raw/whole as we can. It's going to be a big change for us, and an even bigger one for our children. We're definitely going to modify it for our children in the beginning. Obviously, they're not doing the juicing fast with us ;)

I have lost 35 lbs since July 2012, and would like to lose about 12 more. Although, this isn't my main goal of the juicing and new healthy lifestyle. I lost the weight eating mainly healthy foods, but I would also eat a lot of sugar and processed foods. I would just count calories to lose weight.

Join us to a healthier life!!

  1. Good luck Katie! We did a modified juice diet where we juiced breakfast and lunch and then did a home cooked relatively healthy dinner each night...we did it for 3-4 weeks total and each lost ~10lbs from it. We both kept most of it off but really it was more about feeling great during it! The first few days were the worst for us as you go thru the detox but then you start to feel so much better!
